Charging set prices vs what people can afford to pay

I saw a friend’s Facebook post recently where they said they were going to offer their services for what people can afford to pay, and that really got me thinking about this subject.

I know many of us Lightworkers feel we should have our gifts at an affordable rate so those in need can afford to access them. But is this the best way to do things?

If we know we live in an Abundant Universe where there is enough money for anything we want and we know we can attract it, is saying that we will only charge what we can afford a belief in lack and self worth?

When we see many other healers etc charging $200+ per session and getting that rate, and then there’s those of us who play small and give it away for free, for energy exchange or for what people can afford to pay, what is the belief system in play that makes some of us think this way.

Are we devaluing ourselves?

By offering our services for free or a reduced rate are we attracting the right clients for us? Will we instead attract people who aren’t taking responsibility for the situation they are in, who are after someone else to fix it, who are after a quick fix, who aren’t conscious enough of their lives/thoughts/actions/blaming others, who after paying what they choose to pay will most likely not value what we have given them and move on to the next healer or psychic looking for someone to tell them the answer they want to hear?

When we see many other healers etc charging $200+ per session and getting that rate, and then there’s those of us who play small and give it away for free, for energy exchange or for what people can afford to pay, what is the belief system in play that makes some of us think this way.

What can we do?

  • Offer free blog posts, videos, ebooks and other forms of information people can use to get started
  • Trust that whoever is to work with you will find the financial means to do so (We live in an abundant Universe, remember??)
  • Trust that if someone is in need of help that they will find the help they need in other forms and services, and from other people who they can afford
  • It takes time and energy to do what we do. I know I spend time daily working on my own energy, keeping it clear and high vibe so I can do my own psychic and healing work and deliver a high quality to my clients. People don’t see what we do behind the scenes to keep our energy in a state where we can do this work. So for this reason I can totally justify charging so I value the investment I am making in myself on a daily basis
  • I pay top dollar for courses, certifications, mentors to be able to do the work that I do. So I feel justified in charging more knowing the time and money I have spent learning and refining what I do
  • Never make an assumption on what people can or cannot afford to pay. We really don’t know others situations, by assuming they can’t afford us and they need to have our service really is doing a disservice to both of us
  • If you work with someone who is prepared to pay and you feel guided to by Spirit then by all means, give it to them for free at the end of the session when they go to pay you, that way they have come to you fully prepared to pay for your service and also prepared to do whatever work is needed or take on any messages they receive from your session.
  • Also considering offering a freebie once in a while by way of a promotion for your biz and set the intention that the person who needs it most will receive it
  • See your services as something people will be willing to save up for to afford to purchase. How many times in your own life have you saved up to buy something you’ve really wanted? Allow people to do this for you, too.
  • Use your intuition and when you feel guided (or need bookings) run specials or shave a % off the price, but only do this on special occasions not as a default setting
  • Remember that people you are giving free readings to are not your ideal clients and are in fact taking up the space for people who truly will appreciate your work and your value in what you do and be happy to pay you for it
  • People will buy on know/like/trust factor, not by what price you set.  Some people like to test the waters before diving in deep so have a smaller offer that is affordable for them to get a taste of what you do so they can decide if they want to invest more with you

Finally, the world needs more money in the hands of individuals and Lightworkers, because let’s face it, money is power and with money we can make great change in this world. How could you change the World if you had an abundance of money from being paid for your gifts?

I hope you have found this helpful
