Brain Gym is movement based learning. Children learn by moving their bodies, experiencing their outer world through their senses, and it is through this movement they are able to bring in new information into their body for learning new skills and for them to become a part of their everyday skills.
Movement is critical in baby/toddler development. From a child learning to roll over, sit up, rock on all fours, crawl, walk, climb, run, all of these specific movements activate certain areas of the brain that are used later in their early years of learning.
Where children have opportunities for enhancing their learning in Brain Gym we use movement to specifically target those parts of the brain – such as for visual skills, reading, writing, being able to sit still in class, to listen, to learn, to help them to self regulate their emotions, improve co-ordination for sports, improved fine motor skills, and improved focus and attention.
Brain Gym sessions are only offered in person at this stage in my clinic in Malua Bay, Batemans Bay on the Far South Coast NSW. Please contact me on 0418 600 302 to discuss your child’s needs or to book an appointment.
