Law of Attraction has served a major part in the awakening of consciousness of this planet. It was needed to help shift people out of victim consciousness into personal responsibility. The idea of “This is just how it is, there’s nothing I can do about it” to planting a seed of inspiration that they did have a choice in what was being presented to them in their life, and by changing their thoughts, their actions, their beliefs and their vibration they could affect their outer world.

This idea of Law of Attraction and “You create your reality” was introduced to us by several teachers over the last century such as Florence Scovel Shinn, Author of “Game of Life and How to play it” (1925),  Napoleon Hill “Author of Think and Grow Rich” (1937), Jane Roberts who channelled Seth and wrote books such as “The Seth Material” (1970) to more recent times like Esther Hicks who channels Abraham and their teachings in many books such as “The Law of Attraction” (1981) and “The Art of Allowing” (2005) to Rhonda Byrne who wrote, “The Secret” (2006).

The main premise behind Law of Attraction is that “that which is like unto itself, is drawn” (Abraham Hicks). “You see Law of Attraction evidenced in your society when you see that the one who speaks the most about illness has illness; when you see the one who speaks most about prosperity has prosperity….you will begin to understand the direct correlation between what you have been thinking about and what is actually coming into your experience. You attract it all- no exceptions…Because the Law of Attraction is responding to the thoughts that you hold at all times, it is accurate to say you are creating your own reality. Everything you experience is attracted to you because the Law of Attraction is responding to the thoughts you are offering. Whether you are remembering something from the past, observing something in your present, or imagining something about your future, the thought that you are focused upon in your powerful now has activated a vibration within you – and the Law of Attraction is responding to it now…. To better understand the Law of Attraction, see yourself as a magnet attracting unto you the essence of that which you are thinking and feeling. And so, if you are feeling fat you cannot attract thin. If you feel poor you cannot attract prosperity, and so on. It defies Law” (Abraham Hicks, from the book “The Law of Attraction- The basics of the Teachings of Abraham” 2006)

Law of Attraction gave people back their personal power, it gave them back the idea that they did indeed have a choice and free will, that they did have some form of control over some aspects of what was happening in their lives, and that they had to the power to change it. The processes of Law of Attraction have helped to restore the balance of power in the collective which was needed to help humanity progress to where it is today and to where we are going.

For many Law of Attraction plays a huge part in their awakening as it helps them regain their inner strength. People like Esther Hicks are activators for people to wake up and realise their consciousness, (their thoughts, feelings, and beliefs) play a huge role in their ability to take personal responsibility of their life- to step out of victim consciousness and into co-creative mode.

Not all of what happens in your life is because of the Law of Attraction, however. When I look at the energy in a person’s life, approx 60% is free-flowing energy that consists of Law of Attraction, freewill and other tools a person can apply to co-create their reality, the rest of the approx. 40% is a fixed vibration that is made up of what we call karma and pre-determined life lessons, conditioning, (whether from childhood, generational patterns, schooling, etc) limiting beliefs and old patterns of behaviour.

So we have an opportunity with this 40%, as we have experiences that force us to grow and evolve, improve behaviours, upgrade old beliefs, learn our lessons, this fixed vibration of energy decreases allowing more space for Law of Attraction or other manifesting tools to work within. And it is when this happens, that people may choose to apply new methods of manifestation such as Quantum Physics or Consciousness Encoding for example and move on from Law Attraction. So the more we do the inner work, increase our awareness, or raise our vibration, the more we reduce this fixed vibration and allow more space for free will and co-creation to occur.

Law of Attraction becomes a starting point, a trigger, an activation for the soul to start breaking through the old limiting beliefs, that is its purpose when people realise they have free will and the ability to make better choices or call out the “Brules” or bullshit rules as Vishen Lakhiani calls them, that they have been conditioned into believing, they begin the journey of taking their power back, to make more conscious choices for what they want to experience,  then this change naturally flows out into their life and world around them and is reflected back to them, empowering the belief that Law of attraction is working for them and they will continue to work with it to improve their lives.

Intuition- the most sought after skill in the next 10-15 years? https://leesaturner.com.au/2020/02/28/intuition-the-most-sought-after-skill-in-the-next-10-15-years/ https://leesaturner.com.au/2020/02/28/intuition-the-most-sought-after-skill-in-the-next-10-15-years/#respond Fri, 28 Feb 2020 00:17:41 +0000 https://leesaturner.com.au/?p=867

Intuition will be one of the most sought-after skills for employers in the next 10-15 years, or the most desired skill employees and entrepreneurs will want to develop to enhance their careers.

I’m not talking about developing your psychic abilities to do psychic readings, in fact I’m moving away from that idea myself. I’m talking about developing your intuition so you are in a daily conversation with it, you live in an interconnectedness where the natural conversation between your soul and higher self flows throughout your day.

This idea of this interconnectedness with your intuition, is about embracing a state of flow and allowing, as you work together symbiotically, using it as you go about your day, at work, with your children, using it to guide you on which way to travel to work, where to have lunch. It is an interconnectedness with your internal guiding system that you trust without question or doubt. It is about following your intuition when it leads you out of your comfort zone, only to take to to meeting the right person at the right place at the exact right time.

It is also about intentionally using it to connect to altered states where you can enhance your intuition, ask to be shown solutions to your problems, to bring in innovative or revolutionary ideas or products to bring your business, and to be more creative.

Steve Jobs attributed his great success to his intuition. In his biography, Jobs openly discussed his use of his intuition, “Intuition is absolutely more powerful than Intellect” adding “This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life”.  Steve Jobs was an American inventor, designer and leading entrepreneur who co-founded Apple, and as we know Apple had revolutionary products like the iPod, iPhone, iPad which have revolutionised our technology. It was Jobs’ innovation, ingenuity and intuition that helped him create the massive success of his products and company still to this day

Thomas Edison is a world-famous inventor who is not very well known for his deliberate and intentional manipulation of the Theta brain wave frequency to solve his problems and gain insight into his inventions. His famous inventions include the light bulb, the phonograph, motion picture to name some of the more famous ones, however he has 1093 patents filed in the US.

Edison used to take a nap sitting upright in a chair, holding two steel balls in both his hands, and placed directly underneath his hands on the floor were metal bowls. His idea was simple- as he relaxed and fell asleep, his muscles would naturally relax and his hands would drop the balls, they would fall and hit the metal bowls, waking him up. He would be woken up just as he had entered the Theta Brain frequency, where he would get the answers he sought, or ideas and he would immediately write down anything that came to him just before waking.

Intuition and Brain Frequencies

The Beta Brain frequency (13-32 Hz) is our normal waking frequency. It is where you are alert, thinking, problem solving, concentrating, going about your usual daily tasks. In the Beta state you are more plugged in to your external environment than your inner world. You are more likely to be focused on the past our future than the present moment, and it is when we are in this state, we are less able to access our intuition, creative ideas and inspiration.

The Alpha Brain Frequency is where we remove our attention from the outer world to our inner world. Alpha is “The power of Now”, or mindfulness. It is the resting brain state for the brain. It is the brain frequency where we calm our body, attain relaxation, and remove ourselves from a stressful state. It is also the frequency where we can access our natural intuition, creative visualisation, and get great ideas. In the Alpha brain frequency, we have less sensory info coming in from our outer world and we are more aware of our inner world.

Alpha Brain frequency (8-13 Hz) can easily be attained- Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths in and out, then with your eyes still closed, gently look up to where your eyebrows are, about 15 degrees up. Continue to breathe in a relaxed state while keeping your focus on your eyes looking up.

Other ways to access the Alpha brain frequency are to take long hot baths, go for walks or runs, do some creative art, listen to relaxing music, yoga, tai chi etc

“I’ve trusted the still, small voice of my intuition my entire life. And the only time I’ve made mistakes is when I didn’t listen” – Oprah

The Theta Brain Frequency (4-8 Hz) is the frequency Edison intentionally connected to to get new ideas and inspiration from the Quantum Field. It is the brain frequency where we are asleep yet still awake and aware. The body is asleep, and the mind is awake.

It is the realm of deep states of meditation, spiritual experiences, and higher states of consciousness. It is where we access downloads, inspiration, manifesting or creating your reality, exceptional insight and profound ideas, as well as where we can heal our bodies. It is a deeper relaxed state than Alpha and is the point just before you drop off into deeper Delta sleep or where you just begin to wake up before reaching Alpha. Theta is also the state where you do things automatically, like driving your car, washing dishes or in the shower. Theta can be accessed via meditation, binaural beats, or you can set an intention for ideas or solutions before taking a nap and see what comes to you.

In the Theta Brain frequency our subconscious intuitive mind is very accessible and open, we can access dimensions of reality that our conscious mind cannot.

Intuition is the voice of higher guidance, creativity, visionary foresight, inspiration, profound creativity. The great inventors and innovators of the world have deliberately connected with the theta state and their intuition to bring in ideas and innovations that place them ahead of the pack, and revolutionise their fields. It is this skill, of being able to consciously and intentionally work with our intuitive mind and the Theta Brain Frequency that employers will want their employees to have, and more and more entrepreneurs will be wanting to develop so their businesses can become revolutionary and impact human kind.

“The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift” – Albert Einstein

The Fear of Spirits Part 7- Nothing Real can be threatened, Nothing Unreal Exists https://leesaturner.com.au/2019/08/22/fear-of-spirits-part-7/ https://leesaturner.com.au/2019/08/22/fear-of-spirits-part-7/#respond Thu, 22 Aug 2019 03:43:27 +0000 https://leesaturner.com.au/?p=708

“Nothing Real can be threatened Nothing Unreal exists. Herein lies the peace of God” – A Course in Miracles.

This quote from A Course in Miracles has been a cornerstone in my work in recent years.

“This introduction is how A Course in Miracles begins. It makes a fundamental distinction between the real and the unreal; between knowledge and perception. Knowledge is truth, under one law, the law of love or God. Truth is unalterable, eternal, and unambiguous. It can be unrecognised, but it cannot be changed. It applies to everything God created, and only what He created is Real. It is beyond time and process. It has no opposite; no beginning and no end. It merely is.

The World is perception, on the other hand, is the world of time, of change, of beginnings and endings. It is based on interpretation, not on facts. It is the world of birth and death, founded on the belief of scarcity, loss, separation, and death. It is learned rather than given, selective in it perceptual emphases, unstable in its functioning, and inaccurate in it’s interpretations.

From knowledge and perception respectively, two distinct thought systems arise which are opposite in every respect. In the realm of knowledge no thoughts exist apart from God, because God and His Creation share one Will. The world of perception, however, is made by the belief in opposites and separate wills, in perpetual conflict with each other and with God. What perception sees and hears appears to be real because it permits into awareness only what conforms to the wishes of the perceiver. This leads to a world of illusions, a world which needs constant defense precisely because it is not real” (Read the full teaching here)

How this translates for me in regards to fear of Spirits, is what is created by God is only love, anything that produces fear isn’t made by God and therefore doesn’t exist. So in times where I have had profound fear of the Spirit world, I remind myself of this quote and remember that ultimately,

this fear isn’t real and does not exist.

The Fear of Spirits Part 6 – Fear and your Soul’s truth https://leesaturner.com.au/2019/08/22/fear-of-spirits-part-6-fear-and-your-souls-truth/ https://leesaturner.com.au/2019/08/22/fear-of-spirits-part-6-fear-and-your-souls-truth/#respond Thu, 22 Aug 2019 03:41:51 +0000 https://leesaturner.com.au/?p=705

Fear and your Soul’s truth

One of my favourite teachings is about your “Emotional Guidance System” from Abraham-Hicks, the group of consciousness channeled by Esther Hicks.

Abraham-Hicks describes your Emotional Guidance System as-

Emotions are Indicators of your point of attraction

Your emotions are your indicators of the vibrational content of your Being, in every moment. And so, when you become aware of the feeling of your emotions, you can also become aware of your vibrational offering. And once you combine your knowledge of the Law of Attraction with your in-this-moment awareness of what your vibrational offering is, then you will have full control of your own powerful point of attraction. With this knowledge you can now guide your life experience in any way you choose.

Your emotions- simply and purely, and only- are about your relationship with Source. And since your emotions tell you everything that you would ever want or need to know about your relationship with your Source we often refer to your emotions as your Emotional Guidance System.

When you made the decision to come forth into this physical body, you fully understood your eternal connection to Source Energy, and you knew that your emotions would be constant indicators that would let you know, in every moment, your current relationship with Source Energy. And so, understanding the powerful guidance that you have eternal access to, you felt no sense of risk, no sense of confusion- only a sense of adventure and true exhilaration.

… When you think a thought that rings true with who you really are, you feel harmony coursing through your physical body.: Joy, love, and a sense of freedom are examples of alignment. And when you think thoughts of that do not ring true with who you really are, you feel the disharmony in your physical body. Depression, fear and feelings of bondage are examples of that misalignment” (Taken from “Ask and it is Given” written by Esther and Jerry Hicks)

I’ve used this system personally for many years now when faced with stressful or fearful situations. When I think a thought that triggers my stress response, nervous system, or fight/flight response I use my emotional response as a reminder that the thought I am thinking can’t be true due to reaction my body is having to it. My Soul, my connection to Source would never believe a thought that made me feel so bad! So then I work on finding a “better feeling thought” as Abraham puts it, and try out many different thoughts about the subject until I find one that feels better, and doesn’t create a negative charge in my body. This method is so easy and simple to use to redirect thoughts into a more positive direction.

Other tools

Brain Gym, which is also called Educational Kinesiology, has many movements to help in this situation.

A hook up is used to bring the body back into equilibrium after a stress response. When the fight/flight response is activated the bodies and nervous systems response is to withdraw all blood, energy and focus from the outer extremities back into the body so it has more energy to call upon to survive. Doing a Hook Up brings the attention back out of the body and back into the outer extremities (hands, fingers, feet) which supports more logical and ordered thinking and decision making. Doing this activity invites calm while centering and organising scattered attention.  As muscles relax, mental chatter dissipates. The second part of this activity acts as a metaphor in connecting the right and left sides of the brain and the body again

Sitting down or standing up, cross your ankles. Next, put your arms out in front of you, palms facing out

Next, cross your wrists one over the other, your palms will now be facing in

Next, interlace your fingers together

Now, bring your hands down and in towards your body

Bring your hands up to the centre of your chest.  Hold like this for a minute or more, until you feel your breathing return to calm regular breaths.

When you feel calmer and that your breathing has returned to normal, uncross your arms and feet and put your finger tips together in front of your chest, whilst continuing to breathe deeply for another minute or two.

Earth Buttons

Earth Buttons is a great tool to help with grounding. This movement helps by organising the body as one’s centre, from which all movement becomes better coordinated. The Earth Buttons reconnects and recentres the top and bottom halves of the body for increased mental, emotional and physical stability.

Place two finger tips under your lower lip and rest the palm of the other hand over your navel, with your fingertips pointing directly down to the floor. Your chin will automatically tuck itself in. Imagine that you’re breathing air up from the Earth, through your feet into the centre of your body. With your eyes open, look down, then track a vertical line up (eg floor to ceiling) then own again. Repeat this for 4-6 breaths then change hands over and repeat, whilst feeling your grounded connection to Earth strengthen.

Space Buttons

This movement teaches spatial awareness as well as the ability to replace thinking with intuition and knowing.

To do the activity, place two fingertips above the top lip, and place your other hand in the centre of your lower back with the fingers facing down to the ground. Centre your head over your hips. Hold the points for thirty seconds or more, or 4-6 breaths, then swap hands and repeat.

Emotional Stress Release Points (ESR Points)

When we are under stress or the fight/flight response has been triggered, the back part of our brain near our spinal cord is triggered and this sends a warning signal to our nervous system that there is potential danger. This is also the part of the brain where past traumas, experiences and emotions attached to situations are stored. When we hold the ESR points, which are located on our forehead, we are bringing the blood out of that activation back into the frontal lobe of the brain where we can make new choices and have better, clearer thinking and reactions.

The ESR points are located in the middle of our forehead, just above the eyebrows, directly inline with each eye’s pupil. To activate these points, simply using the first and second fingers on each hand, hold gently until you feel the stressful or fearful thoughts and reactions subside. Don’t rush yourself with this process, the intention is to calm the nervous system down out of fight/flight, and by activating these points it sends a signal to the Brain and nervous system that what you are thinking about is OK. When holding these points when the full stress or fear around spirits is activated, it sends a signal to the body that it is ok to think about the subject, and then to finish off this action, visualise how your want your reaction to the spirit world to be. Continue holding the points until you feel relief. These points can be used as often as needed.

Hold these points gently to activate the Stress Release Response. Focus on your breathing, and keep holding these points while you think about the fear to send a signal to your body that it is OK to calm down when you think of this subject

Brain Switching

Another physical response that may get triggered or activated when this fear of the spirit world is triggered is what’s known in kinesiology as “Brain Switching”.

The brain is made up of 2 hemispheres, the right hemisphere and the left hemisphere. The right hemisphere is all about colour, creativity, music, intuition, imagination, arts, feelings, visualisations, and the left hemisphere is all about logical and sequential thinking, mathematics, facts, science, analytical thinking, and reasoning.

The 2 hemispheres compliment each other, working together in harmony to create mental balance. Mental balance occurs when we are able to access both sides of the brain simultaneously, or is also known as brain integration. This brain balance or integration can be affected by stress, and the fight/flight response. The left and right hemispheres of the brain are connected by millions of fibres called the corpus callosum. Information is constantly passing back and forth between these hemispheres via these fibres and when we become stressed or the fight/flight response activated, this information becomes scrambled, and our hemispheres stop talking to each other, limiting our capacity to think logically, rationally, intuitively and creatively.  This is known as “Brain switching”. When an area of our brain or nervous system becomes overloaded and stressed, parts of the brain may become switched off and we can no longer process information properly.

Brain switching may feel like-

  • Going around and around in circles trying to problem solve a topic but getting nowhere
  • Stuck in fear paralysis unable to get out of it
  • Thinking that is illogical, irrational, and you are unable to make sense of situations or how to react to them in the best way
  • Physical activity may feel harder than usual, you may feel off balance, unstable, or out of sync., difficulty walking up stairs, disorientation when looking down from heights and dyslexic tendencies such as “mincing words” or confusing letters like p and b, and not being able to reverse a car using the rear view mirror.

To get the brain out of this switching pattern and reintegrated there are a few simple and easy movements you can do-

The Cross Crawl

The Cross Crawl is a movement used in Brain Gym to get both sides of the brain activated and connected again. It is simple as follows- Standing comfortably, imagine a line running down the centre of your body. Now march on the spot, bringing one knee up while you touch that knee with the opposite hand, making sure that hand crosses over that imaginary line in the middle of your body.

Now lift the other knee up and cross the opposite hand over that imaginary middle line and touch the opposite knee

Do this movement slowly and rhythmically until you feel like both sides of the movement (both opposite arms and legs) are flowing smoothly and equally, or do it for about 30 seconds. The movement of the cross crawl reinstates the connection between both sides of the brain hemispheres, returns fluid movement to all parts of the body where blood may have been taken elsewhere when the fight/flight response was activated, bringing back logical and rational thinking and the ability to problem solve.

Place one hand over your navel, then with the other hand make a “C” shape with your thumb and fingers of your other hand, then rub above the top lip and below the bottom lip at the same time. Do this for about 20-30 seconds

Now swap hands over and repeat again for 20-30 seconds

Place one hand over the navel, with the other hand make a “gun” shape with the thumb and first two fingers. With this “gun” shape rub just below the collar bones, where the ends come together and out approx 2 cms.

And swap hands over and repeat for 20-30 seconds

Zip up the central meridian. The central meridian runs from the pubic bone in an upwards direction to the bottom lip. Simply with one hand, start at the pubic bone and “Sweep” your hand up and touch the bottom lip, then bring your hand out to the side then down to your pubic bone and repeat. Never run this meridian in a downwards direction as it will keep you off centre. Do this movement 6-10 times.

Now sweep up gently and stop when you reach your bottom lip

Place one hand over the navel again, and use the other hand to rub the tail bone or sacrum of the lower back region

Now swap hands over and repeat again for 20-30 seconds

The Fight/flight response- what is it and how to recognise it

The fight or flight response is a physical reaction to a perceived threat, harmful event, attack, or a threat to survival. When this Fight/flight response is triggered, our nervous system is switched on so the body is ready to react in flee or fight. Your nervous system is stimulated to produce chemicals and hormones that create a boost of sudden quick energy that may be needed for survival. Some physical reactions you may experience when this is triggered include-

  • Anxiety
  • Increased heart rate
  • Flushing or going pale
  • Sick feeling in the stomach
  • Pupil dilation
  • Shaking or tremors
  • Increased blood flow to the muscles activated by diverting blood away from other parts of the body, such as the fingers or hands.
  • Increased heart rate, blood sugars and fats in order to supply the body with extra energy
  • Increased muscle tension in order to provide the body with extra speed and strength

These changes which occur are activated in order to give the body increased strength and speed in anticipation of fighting or running. We’ve all heard stories about the parents who are able to lift a car off their child, yet under normal circumstances wouldn’t have the strength if they tried. This is an example of the activated fight/flight response.

The level of emotional response to a situation when the fight/flight response is activated will vary from person to person, depending on their subconscious/unconscious beliefs, fears and past experiences. For example a person with deep fears around the spirit world will find an increasingly heightened response to a spirit being in their house, compared to a person who is trained and is working as a medium, who may have no reaction whatsoever.

For many, when a spirit enters into your energy field (aura) the difference in the vibration between your own energy and that of a spirit may cause anxiety and will trigger this fight/flight response. It is important to note here that the anxiety reaction to a spirit entering into your aura doesn’t mean the spirit is bad or evil, it simply means there is a mismatch in vibration between your energy and the spirit’s energy. I’ve experienced similar when I was meditating and my daughter walked into the room, I felt her energy come into my space and it immediately triggered this survival response. Or we may have someone walk up unexpectedly behind us which may give us a sudden fright.

For many who experience fear, terror or panic related to spirits, their unconscious fears, beliefs and dis-empowerment or lack of self confidence, inability to speak up for themselves, their ability to stand their ground, put in boundaries, say no, or stand up for themselves, whether it be in normal every day relationships and situations or with the spirit world will greatly impact the fight/flight response activation as well, and quite often there will be an instant feeling of loss of personal power, that may not be recognised by the person having the experience. This is where working with a kinesiologist can uncover what is going on for the person when this fear response is triggered to identify patterns, fears, beliefs and release them so the person can feel empowered in this situation.

This blog post will be giving you tools to use to firstly help you recognise when the fight/flight response has been activated due to a fear of spirits, and to calm your nervous system down so it comes out of this response quickly, back into the more rational thinking mind where you can access logical thinking.

If you have found this blog due to a fear of spirits, the first thing to recognise is that you are not alone. A fear of the spirit world and the paranormal is very common due to societal beliefs and conditioning, Hollywood movies, family beliefs, ancestral beliefs and patterns and past life fears. I’ve written this 7 part blog series to explain to you about your fear of spirits, your fight/flight nervous system response, how to calm it all down and many other tools to help you quickly switch from fear to empowerment.

Many of us had ancestors who would have been punished or killed for having psychic gifts, “witches” who were burnt at the stake for their work, women ancestors who hid their work and did it secretly for fear of being found out and persecuted or executed. Many of us have past lives where these fears originate from. Or they could be beliefs in our conscious or subconscious mind basements that we don’t even realise are there, perhaps from what we were taught or picked up in our childhood, yet for some people they trigger huge amounts of fear and panic in us when we think about the spirit world or using our psychic gifts.

For anyone dealing with fear of spirits, or fear of the supernatural and the unknown, my recommendation is to work with a Kinesiologist to find out what the fears are, where they come from and clear them out. I work with Renee at Re:New You Kinesiology, you can find her Facebook page here

From my personal experience once the fears have been shifted situations around spirit will no longer trigger you and you can be at peace and joy to explore your gifts and open up to the spirit world. However, with these fears running programs in the background of your mind, any interaction with spirit for some will most likely be fearful, terror inducing and panic ridden.

Whether spirits are interrupting your sleep, coming to you in dreams, or in meditations, your fear programs will connect with the box in your mind where those fears are stored and automatically filter the experience into something scary.  Or if you are struggling with Lost Souls following you home, or getting attachments, again it’s more common than what you- think it just isn’t talked about. Book in with a Kinesiologist to get to the core of why it is happening.

It really is as simple as using the innate intelligence of your own body to find out why your energetic boundaries are allowing things to enter. But that’s a whole other blog post to talk about this issue, but please know you are not alone, it is a common occurrence, and it can be resolved easily with Kinesiology. For some people setting firm boundaries is all they need, for others they need to delve into the past lives and ancestral patterns to shift it out. It will be unique for everyone.

The Spirit world is unconditionally loving and kind, they don’t want to scare you or hurt you or cause you to have panic or terror. It is your mind, your thoughts and your fears that will create the interactions as something “bad”. Once the fears are cleared you can interact with Spirit and experience the truthful love of the Spirit world and have healthy connections to your loved ones, your guides, and even work doing  readings. The key to remember and I will discuss later, is that FEAR ISN’T REAL.

Empaths and Psychic Protection https://leesaturner.com.au/2019/03/23/empaths-and-psychic-protection/ https://leesaturner.com.au/2019/03/23/empaths-and-psychic-protection/#respond Sat, 23 Mar 2019 06:10:32 +0000 https://leesaturner.com.au/?p=606

There is a lot of misinformation around Empaths and the need for “protection” against “negative energies” or “energy vampires” for example. In this blog I’ve put together the meaning of an Empath, why it is important to look at it from the aspect of an Archetype, how to tell if you are in the shadow aspect or empowered aspect of an Empath and how to change yourself so you know you are in full control.

Empathy is the ability of Clairsentience- clear feeling, but instead of where it is typically used in psychic readings, it is a natural inbuilt system that has been dialed up to the point where you can pick up on the thoughts, feelings, emotions and illnesses of other people, animals and places, without having to consciously tune in to sense and interpret the information. Many Empath’s aren’t aware they are actually tuning into other people’s energy.

An Empath according to the Urban Dictionary is

“A person capable of feeling the emotions of others despite the fact that they themselves are not going through the same situation”

An Archetype is described by Jungian Psychology as-

“A collectively inherited unconscious idea, pattern of thoughts, images etc universally present in individual psyches”

According to the great Carolyn Myss, a world reknowned writer in the field of human consciousness, spirituality and mysticism, we all each have 4 Archetypes- The Saboteur, the Victim, the Prostitute and the Child.

“Archetypes are impersonal patterns of influence that are both ancient and universal, they become personalised when they are a part of your individual psyche. They provide the foundation for your personality, drives, feelings, beliefs, motivations, and actions… They take an active role as guardians and inner allies, alerting you when you are in danger of falling into destructive or “shadow” behaviour”

Archetypes help you avoid the shadow aspect implicit in their name

The Empath Archetype

Here are some of the common beliefs of the Empath Archetype

Shadow aspects-

  • They soak up all the negative energy around them which may lead to grief, depression and exhaustion
  • Find public spaces overwhelming
  • Feel other people’s emotions and take them on as their own
  • Can pick up and take on the physical symptoms of others
  • Can suffer with nausea, digestive disorders and lower back problems
  • Find that people offload their problems onto them
  • Constant fatigue, often drained of energy
  • Prefer solitude, and they need quiet time to recharge
  • Intolerance to or tend to attract narcissistic relationships
  • Often exhaust themselves trying to help others
  • Victim mentality
  • Feel deep pain for others
  • Attract “Energy Vampires”
  • Lose their own sense of self as they take on other people’s personality traits
  • Anxiety and grief “off the charts” before major catastrophic worldwide events

Empowered Aspects-

  • Feel deep compassion for other people, animals and the world
  • A knowing that goes beyond a gut feeling or intuition
  • Can tell when people are lying or being fake
  • Tend to look out for the “underdog”
  • Drawn to Spirituality and energy healing
  • Love animals and nature
  • They strive for the truth
  • Always seeking answers and knowledge
  • Free Spirits, or don’t fit in
  • Great listeners and natural counsellors
  • An innate Connection with Source, also known as Oneness
  • Know what their own energy feels like and can easily identify when they have taken on other people’s emotions
  • Have strong boundaries
  • Have great self care

Empaths and the Psychic Protection Myth

I’ve seen many Empaths posting in online groups asking for help for how they “protect themselves” from energy vampires, going out in public, from people who dump their problems on them and I’ve seen responses that disempower Emapths into believing they need to be “protected” against something. Answers like-

  • Use black crystals to absorb the negative energy
  • Put yourself in a bubble of light
  • Use a prayer of protection such as “Archangel Michael protect me from all lower energies”
  • Calling in White light to create a “Shield”
  • Saging yourself after being around others
  • Wearing crystals as jewelry to protect your energy eg tigers eye and Amethyst
  • Carrying crystals in your bra
  • Put up protective walls or mirrors around you to keep yourself safe

The truth of Protection for Empaths

The word “protection” simply implies there is something you need to be protected from. In actual fact, nothing can hurt you, disempower you or affect you without your consent (conscious or unconscious). And the belief that you need “protection” sends a message to the Universe (Law of Attraction) that something exists that you need protecting from so it will send it to you so you have to protect yourself, and the circle continues.

Here’s how you shift from a Victim Empath who believes they need Protection to an Empowered Empath who knows they are in control of their energy-

  • No one drains your energy without your permission. This “permission granting” goes deeper than conscious consent, it can be a belief deep in your subconscious around helplessness, seeking approval from others, losing power to others etc. No one is more powerful than you, unless you allow them to be. Recognise where you are giving your power away to others and step into your mastery and become an empowered Empath who doesn’t need to “protect” their energy anymore.
  • Quite often the auras of Empath’s are “leaking” into other people’s auras. Normally an aura should be about an arms length all around you and above and below you. Quite often Empath’s auras stretch much farther out than this, and into other people’s auras which is why they pick up on others emotions, thoughts and illnesses. Some believe this may have started in childhood where as children they would have been wanting to sense danger around them, or pick up on the moods of caregivers or parents around them so they would have sent their aura out to sense the energy in the room or house to see how they need to respond to the situation. The key here for the Empath is to consciously bring their aura back to the area around their body, by simply setting the intention and visualising it coming back to about an arms length all around their body. When going out in public, the aura can be brought in even closer to the body, a technique I’ve heard of being used when famous people want to go out in a shopping centre for example but don’t want to be seen. The downside of doing this is it may also make you “invisible” to others and impact on getting service in cafe for example, so it is important to remember to bring your aura back to it’s natural position around your body
  • Knowing your own energy. It is important for anyone to know who they are at a deep level, this means knowing what your energy feels like so if you pick up someone else’s energy you will quickly be able to ascertain it doesn’t belong to you and disconnect from it. For example, paying attention to how you feel when at home, when you’re relaxed, or having fun, in your natural state. Pay attention to how that feels, do you feel calm? Centered? Uplifted? Energised? Make a mental note of different aspects of how your own energy feels. Then next time you’re with others or in public spaces  and you start to feel anxious, tired, sick in the stomach etc this is the first sign to recognise you’ve taken on other energy that isn’t yours. Quite often by acknowledging it will be enough to disconnect from it. And saying affirmations like “I release all energy and emotions that are not mine” or “I am 100% my energy and no-one else’s” are great at helping to disconnect
  • Being Empowered and not a Victim. By being aware of the shadow Archetype of the Empath it is your ally to showing you when you may be playing the victim role instead of being empowered. A victim will be thinking or saying things like “Other people drain my energy” “I attract energy vampires” whereas an empowered Empath will know they are in control of their energy body, and what comes into it, and that no one can affect them unless they have given permission on some level.
  • Boundaries. Boundaries. Boundaries. Learning to say “NO”, “Not my problem”, not hanging around negative people, standing up for yourself, choosing how much you share with people, what or who you follow on Social Media, what behaviour you will or will not tolerate, knowing your own value code, not trying to rescue others, not tolerating drama, and not taking on others opinions are just a few examples of healthy boundaries
  • Raise your vibration. When you have a higher vibration lower you simply don’t attract “energy vampires” and draining situations anymore, as you simply won’t be an energetic match to it. Simple ways of raising your vibration include watching and redirecting your thoughts, gratitude, appreciation, spending time in nature, eating healthy foods, drinking more water, exercising, and meditation
